Ski Fitness, the snowsport specific, physical conditioning assessment and programming company, have announced the weekend of 16th/17th September 2017 for its first series of ski fitness workshops taking place in Surrey. Performance Director, Ollie Martin says “We wanted an accessible opportunity for instructors and athletes to learn some of the detailed requirements for a professional conditioning programme.”
The workshops are open to ski instructors, fitness instructors, personal trainers, physiotherapists, sports therapists, skiers, snowboarders and anyone wants to learn the latest strategies in snowsports conditioning. First and foremost they will learn how to dramatically improve their own fitness but will also be given the tools to coach others.
The workshop weekend is split in two, one day workshops. Saturday 16th September sees the ‘Conditioning for Snowsports’ where delegates will learn how to assess an individual, correct their weaknesses and learn specific exercise technique as well as training theory. Sunday 17th September sees the ‘Nutrition & Lifestyle for Snowsports Athletes’ where delegates will learn the importance of recovery, nutrition and lifestyle for high performance. This is a challenging, myth-busting workshop series that will changes mindsets and bodies.
On the Ski Fitness book and online programme, Ollie comments “After skiing with many people I realised that they were not achieving their full potential on the slopes because of a lack of coherent information on high-performance ski training and in particular lack of knowledge on periodisation, the training effect and recovery.”
“I have personally witnessed Ollie’s incredible athletic ability, and since he is proof of his teachings, this programme will get you there!” Paul Chek, Founder CHEK Institute.
Stephanie Blaise Masters, BASI ISIA Level 3 ski instructor, sports scientist and personal trainer, joins Ollie in delivering the workshops.
